Origin of Name

In Norwegian, Fram means "to go forward." The legendary
Norwegian explorers, Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen, set numerous records
in the research vessel, Fram, during
their Arctic and Antarctic expeditions in the 1890s. The Fram featured
a uniquely designed icebreaking hull that was lifted as the ice closed around
it, thereby floating above the crushing forces of the ice pack. The shape of this hull is abstractly
illustrated in our logo.
The concept of moving forward with technology captures the
innovative spirit of Fram Exploration and its employees.
